The Florida Department of Education released the Florida Value Added Model (VAM), a web-based fiscal transparency tool that identifies public schools and districts with high academic achievement based on the ratio of classroom expenditures to total expenditures. VAM is intended to help taxpayers evaluate the financial efficiency of a school district with other similarly situated school districts.
NEFEC has created an interactive financial visualization for each county in the consortium.

The Educational Funding Accountability Act establishes an accountability system that provides a report summarizing administrative expenditures based upon data submitted by the school district in the program cost report. The summary of administrative expenditures per unweighted full-time equivalent (UFTE) students is presented pursuant to Section 1010.215(6), Florida Statutes, (F.S.). The school district report which includes administrative and instructional expenditures by fund, the number of UFTE students, and the number and percentage of district employees in each category listed in Section 1010.215(2), F.S. are below:
Employee Benefits
Hamilton County School District offers employees many insurance options. The Board contributes $6,000 per year towards the approved district health insurance policy provided through Florida Blue. There are free options for employees that decline health insurance. Open enrollment will begin in August of each year, with October 1st being the effective date of coverage. Assistance is available for filing claims and making insurance changes due to qualified life events.

Risk Management
Risk Management in a school system involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks to ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors. Reporting accidents, injuries, or potential hazards are critical to the safety of our district.
